Great question! Your fear is well-founded!! However, dogma is not so much a tangible thing or group… it’s more insidious than that.
Dogma is the very dangerous idea that a particular point of view is beyond dispute and is not to be questioned. Typically, dogma is found in religious contexts and protects ideologies and doctrines that may in another context make no sense, hence, the tendency to be dogmatic. Dogma protects irrational beliefs and enables the widespread practice of disseminating myths as truth across millennia.
